Six Flags White Water, Atlanta, Georgia

Water parks have always been a favorite for our family. Some of my earliest summer memories are of wave pools, splash pads, and lazy rivers. When Six Flags White Water invited us to visit this summer, I couldn’t have been more excited to say yes! They sent us tickets to enjoy the park, but all experiences and opinions are always our own. Before we dive into what the park has to offer, I should probably let you know that we made the trip with two toddlers. That’s right: we took three adults and two kids under age two to Six Flags White Water, and we lived to tell the tale. In fact, we all had a blast!

Six Flags White Water is a 69-acre water park in Marietta, Georgia. Since it is a water park, it’s only open during the summer months. We visited at the end of September, when it was warm enough to enjoy the water, but not hot enough that walking from one end of the park to the other felt like a workout. The parking fee for Six Flags White Water is $20 per car. On the day we visited, we were able to park close to the front gates.

We arrived early at Six Flags White Water, to make the most of our day. It’s highly recommended that you get there as early as possible during peak water park season, so you can beat the crowds! The park also tends to be less crowded during the week.

When it comes to water park rides, our group couldn’t be more different. Jen and I are thrill seekers. The toddlers need a safe play area. Jenna and Justin were content to sit in the lazy river the whole day. Somehow, everyone got what they wanted. Pro-tip: unless someone wants to sit with your stuff all day, it’s worth it to invest in a locker rental. That way no one forgets their phone is in their pocket until halfway down a water slide!

For the tots, Buccaneer Bay was a hit. Buccaneer Bay is a splash pad and playground meant for the youngest kids. The toddlers were particularly drawn to a small water slide. They spent the whole day going up and down it! For older kids who still aren’t ready for the big slides, there’s an activity pool, Lilypad Crossing, Captain Kids Cove, and Treehouse Island.

The food at the park is limited, so if you have food allergies, you’re going to want to pack a lunch. However, for those of us who weren’t limited by food allergies, the food was described as “much better than the usual theme park food!” You can find pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders at various kiosks around the park. Between the abundance of benches, picnic tables, and pool chairs, you’re sure to find somewhere to chow down in peace. For the best bang for your buck, invest in a souvenir cup for drinks. On the day you buy it, you get free refills! The Georgia sun is hot, and hydration is important.

Our trip to Six Flags White Water is one of our favorite family memories from the year. I loved getting a chance to share my love of waterparks with my daughter for the first time, and we had a blast checking out all of the attractions! There really is something for everyone at Six Flags White Water.
