Small Porch Christmas Decorating Ideas

I spend a lot of time outdoors working in my backyard. Sadly, that means I have lovely garden areas, green spaces, and sitting areas behind our house where no one who passes by the front yard can see. With the upcoming holidays, I knew I needed to spruce up our front porch area.  Seriously. I realized my welcome mat was purchased when my son was in 2nd grade. He’s twenty now, Y’all.  Even though I had added some cute décor for Fall, I needed a Christmas refresh.  Here are my ideas to make a small front porch ready for the holidays. at home

Christmas Porch Ideas

I saw the cute new holiday collections at At Home   and couldn’t resist some mixing and matching. I decided to go with a classic Red and White color scheme. I started with a red glitter doormat. It’s cute enough for Christmas, but tough enough to stand up to the elements. We have a lot of gray, gloomy days with rain and drizzle.

For the door, I chose a 15-inch wreath with red, white, and silver ornaments. It also comes in a larger size, which would cover more of the door. Looking back, I wish I had purchased the larger wreath. I’ll know for the next holiday! For a focal point beside the front door, I added three cone trees. I wanted a variety of height and color so I purchased one large white tree, one medium red tree, and one small red and white tree.

I felt like the porch still needed a “little something” so I added a hanging metal sign. Not only does this top hat remind me of a White Christmas, it even had the initial of our last name on it. It was the perfect touch to personalize the décor.

Cute & Easy Bedside Table Display

Inside the house, I decided we needed a small room refresh to make the house say, “Welcome! It’s the Holiday Season.” I decided to add a scene to one of our bedside tables because it looked barren. I wanted something simple that would relate to our lives and I found it in the “Holiday Hoedown” collection. Because we have a farm and we raise sheep, this sign, “Christmas is better on the farm,” made perfect sense. I added a small holiday sheep, along with a small rustic Christmas tree and a burlap poinsettia. Not only did this match our family, it’s not breakable. I know during the holidays’ things sometimes get knocked off the tables or carried off by little hands.

I’ve discovered it’s the little extra touches and attention to details that make the holidays special. I was pleased with both my porch re-do and my bedside table holiday display.
