This is a partnered post with Clorox, but all opinions are my own.
Is there anything more exciting than doing laundry? said no one ever. It’s the worst part of coming home from vacation. Piles and piles of laundry, taunting me as I walk by. There’s the sorting, the dividing, the washing, the folding, the drying. It’s a never ending cycle. But worst of all, ever more horrific than the ever ceasing cycle of laundry is the bleaching. I don’t know how many times I have been dressed to run errands, head to church or spend an evening with friends when I decided, “Hey! I’ll put a load of laundry in to wash while I’m gone.” Inevitably, when I add the bleach I miss and spill a few drops on my clothing. Nothing annoys me more (well, almost nothing) than having Bryan or the kids ask, “What happened to your shirt/pants/shorts/dress?” and look down to see three or four small bleach stains. I’ve ruined more clothing that way!
I also like to use bleach when I am mopping my floors and cleaning my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and counters Want to guess who in my home somehow always drips bleach on their clothing from the mop water or from their kitchen sink? No, I don’t know how I do it either, but I do wear old clothes for mopping. When Clorox asked me to take the #BleachinYourBest challenge, I was intrigued. It was a chance to test their new Clorox® Control Bleach Crystals™ and Bleach Packs™ . It’s the same power of Clorox without the spills! The Clorox® Control Bleach Packs™ are convenient, pre-measured, water-activated single use pouches that dissolve completely in water with no measuring or pouring. Pretty genius for someone like me who can spill bleach on herself almost without touching the bottle. I can use one pack in the washing machine or add one to the required amount of water to clean toilets, sinks, tubs and other hard surfaces. . The Clorox® Control Bleach Crystals™ are Clorox® Bleach in a solid, crystalized form that is water activated. I used them, mixed with water, to clean my patio furniture and to clean my kitchen. (Of course, I can add the crystals to the washer with my white clothing.) Not only did I not get any bleach on my clothing, I didn’t smell like bleach.
Just FYI: If the bleach crystals say “regular scent” do NOT sniff them to see if they have a pleasant fragrance. They still smell like bleach.
While you may not want to wear heels and a dress to wash and bleach your clothing, it’s nice to know there is an option to be able to throw in a load of clothes will I am on the go, and in my case, even when I am not.
