Superbowl Celebration

We were ready for the big game-Super Bowl XLVI, Patriots vs. Giants. We’d invited some friends, picked out our favorite teams, and purchased our snacks. What could make our party more festive?

Triple Threat Brownies

These were a hit, with everyone commenting on the flavor and how easy they are to make. They can be made ahead or served warm with ice cream.

Ingredients

  • One box brownie mix
  • One package of cookie mix in your favorite flavor (I used peanut butter)
  • One package of oreos
  • oil
  • eggs

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix the cookie mix as directed on the package but add 1/4 cup oil and 1/8 cup water. Spread in a greased baking dish.

Crush the Oreos and spread over the cookie batter.

Mix the brownies as directed and spread over the Oreo mixture. Bake for forty minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
< I topped my brownies with chocolate glaze for a decadent finish. We started our party with snacks. The Orville Reddenbacher Movie Theater Butter Popcorn was a hit. I had to make two bowls. I served Coke Classic in our Coke Classic glasses I had collected over the years. Sadly, I had a bunch of Superbowl dishes, napkins, and decorations I couldn't locate. Maybe I will find them by next year's Superbowl party!

The teenage guys decided to play video games until time for the game to begin. < The adults were more than happy to eat and chat while waiting for the game. I think everyone had a good time although the women were a little jealous of Madonna while watching the half time show! Check out my shopping trip for our Super Bowl party with my
