“Can she breathe? Why is she turning blue?” That’s a question no parent wants to hear, but one I’ve been asked several times. Those questions are usually followed by an emergency trip to the doctor or the ER. Allergies and asthma are commonplace in our family and it’s always a challenge to find out triggers are causing them. Is it the weather change? Is it the Bradford pears that are blooming? Is it something new we aren’t aware of yet? Who knows? But soon there will be a way to help take control of our health. It’s a new smart companion; the 3M™ Respiratory Tracker.
I attended CES in Las Vegas courtesy of 3M to learn about the new 3M™ Respiratory Tracker. All opinions are my own.
What’s so great about the 3M™ Respiratory Tracker?
It’s a sleek new device that offers personalized insights to promote healthy breathing, which may help manage asthma and allergy symptoms. How cool is that? And it’s discreet too. It can be worn out of sight, so kids can wear it and none of their friends will know. Plus, parents (and kids) can find up to the minute weather, allergen and air quality alerts, along with personalized tips about their own unique triggers and sensitivities on the accompanying app.

- Ways to Track Your Breathing: Use the 3M™ Respiratory Tracker as a tool that can help you to log, track and trend your breathing quality, in various environments and locations. If it seems like you have trouble breathing n certain areas, this device can help. When the tracker detects changes to breathing you will be prompted to add your possible respiratory symptoms and possible triggers which will can be tracked. You can also track your rescue inhaler use.
- Ways to Discover Triggers: This device allows you to discover which triggers may be associated with your breathing difficulties by tracking and trending your breathing quality and environment over time.

This device helps people understand how the environmental triggers in your location could impact your breathing by giving a personalized trigger forecast.
When Can I Get One Of My Own?
The 3M™ Respiratory Tracker has been launched in its beta phase through the crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo, and will be available in Spring 2019. The app that is paired with the 3M™ Respiratory Tracker can be used on mobile devices such as apple and android products.

I get allergies pretty regularly for like a week out of the year. I am so glad I don’t deal with them all Summer. They are so miserable!
Wonderful advice. My mom was recently diagnosed with asthma and given both a daily inhaler and a rescue inhaler. I look forward to sharing all of this helpful information with her.
There is thankfully no asthma here in our house, but my very first boyfriend back in high school had it BAD. It is scary, so this tracker is great to have.
