Our society has become increasingly high tech. I’m constantly searching for new tech products to make my life easier. And, if they make my life easier, the same products will probably make life easier for those hard to buy for relatives. Who doesn’t want their life to be simplified? The ulterior motive is if life is easier for the people around me, it will trickle down and be easier for me. Genius, right? Here’s some of my favorites.
G-Project G-Drop Speakers: Do you have a teen, preteen or young adult in your life who wants to listen to tunes all the time? So do I. I’m fine with that, especially when I can sneak over and crank up classic 80’s hits. I’m not so fine with speakers ruined at the beach or by the pool. The G-Drop speaker is built to handle rain, snow, and water. It’s built to be able to withstand three feet of water and temperatures from -14 to 122 with no damage! The six hours of battery life, metal clip to allow it to be placed almost anywhere and the shape lets it sit, stand or lie down. Recharging is quick and convenient, just plug into a usb charger. The elastomer coating keeps out dirt and dust, making it ideal for the beach. This is one $50 device that will keep the party going and keep me from worrying about delicate electronics.
SleepPhones® Classic: Who doesn’t get cranky without enough sleep? Traveling can make it even worse. SleepPhones Classic are “headphones in a headband” designed by a family doctor to reduce ambient noise, conversations, traffic sounds and snoring, allowing us to fall asleep faster and stay asleep. The ultraslim headphones are encased in a comfortable fabric (your choice of SheepCloud™ Breeze, a lightweight stretchy fabric, or SheepCloud™, made of fleece) and are available in five colors. The speakers are removable, allowing the non-piling, non-stretching fabric to be removed and machine washed. A free downloadable app, available through the iPhone is available, along with free downloadable sleep sounds from the computer. You can also listen to your own favorite tunes, audiobooks and more. The SleepPhones Classic are available for $39.99.
Ventev Powercell Chargers: For those of us who are constantly connected to social media, there’s nothing worse than finding the device needs charging, usually at the worst possible time. Ventev makes several devices designed to keep us connected at home or on the go. The Powercell 3015+ is a portable charger designed to deliver 12 1/2 hours of extra battery life and can be used to charge any usb powered device. It’s compact size makes it perfect for travel. I can toss it in my purse and go! Even better, it comes precharged! Another great invention, the Desktop Charging Hub s500, allows a stylish and compact way to charge all your devices! With three usb hubs and two surge protected outlets, I can charge my phone, tablet and computer all at once! And, who can have enough cables? Seriously, I have had cats chew threw them and kids tell me, “My cable is broken,” so often I need to keep a stash of these. The ChargeSync cables are flat, tangle resistant and come is sized designed for either home or travel use. The Ventev Powercell 3015+ is priced at $49.99, the Desktop Charging Hub s500 at $59.99 and the ChargeSync cables begin at $12.99.
iHealth Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor: As we have become more health conscious, we’ve been monitoring our blood pressure. Traditional machines are bulky, containing wires and tubes. The iHealth Wireless is compact and easy to carry while traveling. Download the MyVitals app, available for Apple and android, to your tablet or smartphone and with one click you can check your systolic and diastolic pressure, plus your pulse rate. The information is securely stored in a cloud system, which can be viewed on the app or your computer. Need to share the information with your doctor? The app gives you an option for that! Available for $99, the iHealth is an easy way to keep up with your health.
Just Dance 2016, Just Dance: Disney Party 2 & Hasbro Family Fun Pack Games: Winter is a downer when it comes to exercising. These three games from Ubisoft can create great family game nights and get everyone up on their feet and moving. Just Dance 2016 features some of the hottest hits like All About That Bass and Uptown Funk, plus has a cool new feature allowing you to use your smartphone as a controller and to track and score your dance moves. Just Dance: Disney Party 2 is a family friendly way to learn how to dance like the stars of your favorite Disney Channel Shows. There’s also a new Karaoke feature, allowing kids (or adults!) to sing along for bonus points. The Hasbro Family Fun Pack allows you to play your favorite games; Monopoly Plus, Risk, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit with your family or with people all around the world online. The games are available for Xbox or PS4 and prices begin around $22.
What tech products would you like to find under the tree this year?
Great techie gifts and video games are always a hit and a must at my house. I usually do them for stocking stuffers.
I have not done any shopping yet (shhhhh) so these ideas are a great kickstart. We love Just Dance. The headphones are pretty slick too.
These are fantastic ideas! I especially like that charger!
There are so many great gift ideas for the techie in your life! I would love to have a lot of these!
There so many things on this list that would fit my husband, my son, and ME! 🙂 I have to get the SleepPhones Classic for my husband because he loves listening to music in bed and I have to have it quiet. We have Just Dance 2016 and my son and I have been having a blast with it.
I love the headphones that reduce noise. It’s so hard to get real rest when you are a mom.
I see a couple of things I would like to pick up. I do a lot of travel and think the SleepPhones would be great for me.
These are great gift ideas! I like the headband!
I buy my kids dance games and pretend that they’re presents for them. But let’s be honest, I have just as much fun playing them. I need to pick up Just Dance.

I need those sleep phones in my life like yesterday. I generally sleep with earplugs in but sometimes not even that works because I start to focus on what I don’t hear!
I would like a new lens or new camera. Maybe I’d like a new mini video camera or a new computer. So much want going on in my head.
I love these pics. The Hasbro game pack is the best. It’s the best of digital and old school entertainment.
I was actually thinking about getting that for my kids this year. I think they would really like it.
Woah, sleepPhones? What an AWESOME idea. I need to get those for when I travel!
