Anyone who has children knows there is some things that come with the territory after the baby is born; no sleep, lots of diapers and feedings at all hours. What I didn’t realize after my first child was born was the changes to my body. I can look back and laugh about it now, but at the time I thought I could go home from the hospital wearing the jeans I could fit into before pregnancy. Goodbye baggy maternity pants! Imagine my shock when I discovered I was going home in maternity clothes. “Something is messed up here,” I thought. Other changes occurred right after the birth of my son. Jumping on the trampoline with my daughter was no longer as much fun, which brings us to today’s topic, light bladder leakage. (Ha! Did you like how I worked that in?) I know this seems like an “old people problem,” but thanks to Depend, who is sponsoring this post, I learned more people in their twenties have bladder leakage than people in their eighties!
Let’s face it, this is an embarrassing topic for many people. It’s not something most people work in to conversation with their friends. “How’s the family? Kids doing okay? Want to talk about bladder leakage?” Yeah, it just doesn’t work. That’s why I wanted to help raise awareness of this problem and highlight what Depend is doing to help. They’ve started a movement, called #Underwareness. Depend will be donate $1, up to $3 million, over the next three years to charities that advance the research, education and awareness of bladder leakage for every pant drop, photo and video shared Using #Underwareness and #DropYourPants; and every personal video made about what Underwareness means to you that is uploaded to YouTube and tagged #Underwareness and #DropYourPants. (And no, you don’t actually have to show any actual pants dropping.)
Want to learn more? Visit www.Underwareness.com to join the movement and request free samples of Depend. They provide a variety of discreet products that help people regain their freedom and get their lives back, including: Depend Real Fit for Men and Silhouette for Women briefs: Look, fit and feel like real underwear and feature a cloth-like fabric for a sleek, ultra-smooth fit and Depend Underwear with Fit-Flex protection: Features more Lycra stands for a smooth and comfortable close-t0-the-body fit.
This is great information for those who need help with leakage issues. I’ve heard this is a great brand too.
I love this campaign. It’s going to help a lot of people. It also adds a little comedy.
These are really helpful. My sister and I get a good laugh at leakage issues.
My bladder leakage is anytime that I cough. Having babies are killers to our bladder aren’t they?
I am with you! After having 5 kids my bladder is not the same – coughing, sneezing yeah there are leaks.
Having c-sections, I haven’t had the need for Depends, but I know many of my friends who have.
Two babies later, I’m not going to pretend I love this topic, but I definitely understand it.
I only have leakage issues when I am laughing too hard. I just laugh that off too. It is a pain, butt I just deal with it. Its nothing for me to be ashamed of. I am glad that there are products and awareness now.
I am really glad I don’t have this issue. I can’t stand wetness
I am glad I don’t have such issues. But its really great to know that products like Depend could help a lot for the ones who might need help out of such problems. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t have leak issues now but it doesn’t mean that when I’m older I won’t. Thanks for raising awareness.
That’s fascinating that it’s more common with people in their 20’s. I never would have thought that! EVER!
yay for no problems on this topic, but it happens I know.
This is embarrassing, however it is the cold hard truth.
I don’t have any bladder leakage but never can tell what can happen in the future
got my free sample-saving it! so far so good! thanks for the info!
Thankfully at age 53 I still don’t have this issue – yet.
When I was pregnant with baby #6 I would sneeze and look out! Usually I sneeze silently and it’s fine but otherwise I would need a liner, oops!
My sister had bladder leakage. It is a delicate subject but we need to spread the word about it and help others.
I don’t have this problem (yet) but it’s reassuring to know there is a product out there that can help.
I have to cross my legs whenever I sneeze or cough real hard. It is awful!
I’ve had this problem since I had a C-Section at 23. If I cough, laugh or sneeze it’s all over. I’ve tried all kinds of different pads but the Depends are the most dependable haha!
I don’t have leakage issues, but there is a whole group of moms in my zumba class who do & there is always a collective sigh when a song with jumps comes on!
I know this is a serious matter but I can’t help but chuckle at the thought 🙂
I also don’t have leakage issues, but did go home in maternity clothes 🙂
