I am a Swiffer Fanatic and this is partnered post. However, my love for rescue animals and pet adoption is all my own.
“One of the things I love about you is how you want to help all the little helpless creatures,” Bryan once told me, “but you can’t save them all.” I’ve set out to prove him wrong with our large collection of rescue cats, dogs and even ducks. I believe all animals should have a loving home, so I was thrilled to attend the Swiffer and Barkbox adoption event with actor Scott Foley in New York City last week. Also attending the event were the guests of honor, sixteen rescue dogs from four New York City rescue organizations. Before the evening was over, five of the pups had found their “furever homes.”
We sat down to chat with Scott who showed us pictures of his rescue dog, Frankie. “I think it teaches kids responsibility to have a pet to care for,” he said, “What I didn’t know was how concerned parents were about pet messes.” The numbers surprised me too. According to the second annual Swiffer Cleaning Index, while 93% of American parents feel that having a pet is one of the most rewarding experiences a child can have, 75% of those who do not already have a pet agree that concerns over pet-related messes could prevent them from getting one With millions of pets needing “furever” homes, this is a grim statistic.
To help parents bring home a first pet for their family, Swiffer has teamed up with Bark & Co, the founders of Barkbox, to provide 10,000 Welcome Home Kits to participating shelters across the country. Each kit contains cleaning tools for Swiffer and treats and toys from Barkbox to break down the barriers that could be associated with pet adoption. In addition, Swiffer will also make a $50,000 total donation to distribute to select shelters nationwide this holiday season to help more pets find homes.

Do you have a pet rescue story to share?
we have three rescues and they are all awesome. the pups you showed are sooooo cute, I have such a soft spot for doggies.
What a great event and an awesome cause. So many things to do to help save animals.
How can you resist those faces? My kids are asking me today if we could get another dog to keep the other company. I’m considering it!
What a great event to bring awareness to pet adoption! We adopted our cats and they are beloved members of our family.
Like the cute dogs weren’t enough, you add Scott Foley into the mix. We want our next dog to be a rescue one. My BIL has adopted many rescue cats….I think giving an abandoned animal a home is very important.
Jake Ballard! We are Scandal watchers. How cool that he’s involved with good causes like this. What a great event. I hope those pups went home with some good people.
OMG, you were THAT close to Scott Foley! I love that he is part of such a great cause. I love him even more!
While we can’t save them all, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try! Definitely a fun event, so great to hear national brands partnering to save animals
Aw, so sweet! I love animals. We don’t have pet but if we did, we’d go to the rescue. My gf has one named Austin, she found him at a rescue in Austin and he is such a love bug and it’s adorable seeing how affectionate rescue animals are, it’s like they just know!
Awe they are all so adorable! That would be the size dog I would want. Unfortunately my daughter has allergies, hopefully she will outgrown them!
What an awesome event! We adopted our last dog and it was the best thing we did!
Awww what a great event that was. I have only adopted once but I’ve said that if I ever need another pet I will be sure to adopt.
These pets are so cute and deserve good homes! So glad events like this help bring awareness to the need for adoption.
aw what a great event. Our fur babies are adopted to.
We are considering it. We have to wait for some dust to settle and then maybe. 🙂
What a great event. All dogs deserve to be adopted and live happily ever after in good homes.
I adopted three cats that I found in my garage and it as been a wonderful decision ever since then. Swiffer is great for donating welcome home boxes.
We have had several dogs that are rescue dogs. I’m not even sure where to get one that’s not a rescue dog to be honest!
Scott and the folks at Swiffer are pawsome. We love that they gave back and are helping to place homeless pets into forever homes.
What a great event. The dogs are so darn cute. IT is a great way to promote rescue.
How cute are these little pups!! Sounds like a great program.
All the dogs are so cute. I hope to get another one someday. I love Kloe Kardiogians name. LOL
We have a precious kitty cat that we rescued, she is the sweetest thing, her name is Misty! This is such a great cause!
All these dogs are so adorable! We adopted from the humane society.
each of our pets are rescues. Even growing up, that’s always how we got our pets!
What a wonderful program! My oldest dog is a rescued boxer and my cat is a rescue as someone dropped him out by my moms house. 🙁
All of these doggies are super adorable! I love attending pet adoption events. I hope you guys were successful in all of the adoptions and the dogs got wonderful homes.
I have a rescue animal myself. I would adopt a ton of animals if I could.
I have a soft spot in my heart for rescue animals, too. We have a rescue cat and dog and they are the best ever.
I would love to rescue as many animals as possible and allow them to take over our house. For now we have one special dog who was born on the street and adopted by us at 9 weeks old.
Aww It must have been amazing hearing Scott’s stories. It’s so nice having pets but he’s totally right about the messes they make.
I don’t have a pet rescue story, but can definitely appreciate each and every one. It’s an amazing way to change a pet’s life. P.S. I love Swiffer products thanks to our St Bernard!
All of our animals are rescue and we love them so! If a Swiffer will make it easier for more families to provide “furever” homes that is AWESOME! I don’t have ducks but I have had a tribe of cats and currently have a much beloved dachshund.

My hubby rescued a litter of kittens. Momma decided to give birth in a welding shop of all places so he brought the kittens home and we found new forever homes for 3 of them and kept 2. 🙂
I rescued our cat 3 years ago. Someone chipped, fixed and gave her shots, and then threw her on the street when they moved. I went through several notaries and vets to have her info changed and she’s been with us ever since.
Both of our cats, Peanut & Little Tiny, are rescues. They make the best pets of all!
Our dog wasn’t a rescue per se, but we got him from an elderly woman who hadn’t been able to care for him well for a long time. Her family finally convinced her to find a new home for her dog when she had to have foot surgery and the recovery was going to be 12 weeks. He was the sweetest dog!!!
Ahh, I love Scott Foley! I also love our rescue pup and I’d totally get another one too.
This is so wonderful. I think pet adoption is one of the most beautiful things. There are so many animals who need forever homes.
Omgoodness Scott Foley. He’s so yummy. He’s even more adorable with puppies.
I had never heard of him until I read this, but he sure is handsome.
We have a precious kitty cat that we rescued, she is the sweetest thing! I love that Swiffer is doing this, such a great cause!!
Our dog Milo is a rescue. I would never even consider getting a pet that wasn’t one.
