Do you have friends or family members who do not like anything you buy them for presents? Buying presents for my nieces, nephews and kids was so easy when they were younger. I purchased the latest toy and everyone was happy. Now they are older and pickier. I used to rack my brains trying to find something they would like (that also fit in my budget.) I always picked up the wrong CD or DVD and don’t even get me started on electronics! Have you ever tried to buy a case for an iPhone? 5C? 5S? 6? I didn’t know what these kids had. Thankfully for me, Best Buy has made buying Birthday (or other gifts) easier for me with their new Best Buy Gift Ideas Page.
What’s so good about this page? The gift ideas page is here to provide the gift inspiration you need with lists of great birthday gift ideas for ‘Him’, ‘Her’, ‘Kids’, and ‘Teens’. Even better, it has lists to help me find gifts in the price range I am searching for. For those of us with family away at college, sometimes we need to send a gift card. I can click the gift card link to buy a Gift Card and have it shipped to them, or get an ‘E-Gift Card’ that will be delivered instantly via email. (Can you guess which one of these my family members prefer? They are not patient. )
Best Buy also has a new Best Buy Wish List. When one of my family members creates and share a list with me I know exactly what to purchase. It also helps me keep track of all their birthday gift ideas. Best Buy has made my shopping so much easier. And that’s coming from a mom who just took her son college shopping at Best Buy to make sure he had everything he needed from the long list of electronics the school told him to bring.
Do you have any tips for choosing gifts for picky relatives?
I never know what to get my MIL so she always gets a gift card. I honestly hate giving gift cards but they definitely come in handy.
My family has a strict “no gift card” rule for Christmas, but sometimes I wish they didn’t! Sometimes, I don’t know what I want, let alone what anyone else does!
I love that Best Buy has this new Wish List feature. I know it will definitely making shopping for others and being shopped for so much easier!
I’m a fan of gift cards. Not just for picky people but you really never know what someone needs to even already has. I like to do something small like a game, DVD or book plus a gift card.
My in-laws are very difficult to shop for! I’ve gotten them so many random items over the years that never get used!
I think Gift Cards are great gifts when you don’t know the person interests well enough, and even better if it’s Visa or Amex so they are not restricted to any one type of store!
I hate shopping for picky people! It stresses my out so much! It sounds like the Best Buy wish list would help out with that a lot!
I didn’t even finish reading your post before I had to look for an idea for my nephew! His birthday is in a week… I found something using the best buy link you gave and then finished reading your post:) Thank you!
If we have tic pick up a gift for someone and they are picky I always go with gift cards. They can pick their own items. O
We’ve all got relatives that are hard to buy for. Best Buy has something for everyone, but a gift card is always a good option if I’m really stumped.
You can neg with cash or gift cards. That is what I do as my boys are picky
I do have a few picky people in my family and they are a bear to buy gifts for. I almost always opt for a Best Buy gift card.
This is a great idea. Love all they have to offer.
I have a hard time finding gifts for family members at Christmas. This is a great idea!
I have a couple family members that are hard to buy for. I just started getting them gift cards.
My mom is pretty darn picky. She will never make a totally rude comment, but you can always tell her true thoughts by her reaction. I make it a point to pay attention and make mental notes about things she mentions she wants or likes throughout the year.
In my family, if you were picky, you went without! So we don’t have anyone that is really hard to shop for, since we’re thankful for anything we get from another person. But your tips are great for those people who need the extra help!
Oh yes! Some people in my family are SO hard to buy for it is ridiculous !Those people usually get a gift card or nothing! 🙂
Thankfully, my inlaws and my mother are the only people we really buy for these days. Of course, we buy for each other and for kiddo. My husband is hard to buy for just because all he wants are things that are really expensive!
Shopping for picky relatives is the 10th circle of Hell. I usually go with a gift card, but I’m thinking I won’t have to do that with Best Buy.
My biggest tip for giving a gift to a picky person is gift cards. You can never go wrong when they can get whatever they want! 😉
