Quick! What is the first thing you think of when you hear the term “whole body health” for cats? I admit, until our cats began visiting the holistic vet, I had never thought about it. When our cat, Mitzie, began chewing her fur off in clumps until she looked like a hairless cat, I began to research cat health. After all, it was embarrassing telling people, “I don’t know why my cat has no fur and scabs. Yes, I have taken her to the (traditional) vet. They don’t know either. We’re doing medication.” It turned out, besides being a nervous cat, possibly from her days at the animal shelter, she was allergic to gluten. I was shocked. Who knew cat nutrition could have such a big part in their well being? I thought all cat foods were created equally. Boy, was I wrong! I couldn’t believe the difference a gluten free product made! She actually has fur in this picture!
How much do you know about Whole Body Health? I, along with some other pet bloggers, asked fellow pet parents to share their concerns. The answers were developed into this infographic and might surprise you. Sadly, I think my answer to how does DHA and EPA benefit pets was wrong. Only 28% of pet parents got this one right!

Oh my goodness! A CAT allergy to gluten?! Who would have thought? Glad you got it figure out … poor baby!!
My dog has allergies, and we haven’t narrowed it down yet. It is something in the yard, not her food. Its tough when your fur baby can’t tell you what is wrong!
I try to get the best for my pets but they are oh so picky and once I’ve found something they like I don’t like changing it.
Pet owners out there need to read this. I’m sure they only want the best for their furry babies.
What a cute little fur baby. It’s always good to get your pets checked.
I have a dog and I always worry about his health. It’s important for pet owners to know how to keep their pets healthy.
I have two adult cats. One doesn’t seem to have to many fur balls. The other is always coughing up one. I will have to look into changing their food.
Thanks for these great tips. Our not so kitten cat has had a few problems lately that have stemmed from the kind of food we had been feeding her (we assumed it was okay as it was a top of the line cat formula). We’ve had to make adjustments to her diet.
I had to remove beef from my dog’s diet and she can only have chicken due to allergies. Who would have thought? This seems like it is a great product and our pets are certainly worth it.
What? Who knew cats could be allergic to gluten too? That’s so interesting. I have seen many nervous cats though. I hope this new food helps your kitty.
I will have to admit that I wouldn’t think about treating our pets holistically but after reading this article I will have to say that you have given me some things to think about.
I have to say, you pet looks so adorable. I love the costume.
I have 3 dogs that I worry about the health of. It is great that there is a product like this to help calm those fears!
My dog sometimes chews her fur off, but in very tiny amounts. She’s a very anxious gal, but she has learned not to do that now thankfully.
Our vet, who was very into holistic medicine, used to come over and give our Newfoundland acupuncture. She LOVED it!
I actually don’t know that much! Thanks for sharing that graphic, very informative.
I didn’t realize cats had allergies like that. I’m so glad you figured it out though!
Oh my how cute is your kitty dressed up. We have a wonderful vet for our babies.
I am looking for a vet to help with one of our cats. We had one back home who was great but have yet to find the right fit for her in our new location. She also pulls her hair out in clumps and has many other issues. Glad you found help for your baby.
Great post. I worry about my cats because they are getting older and I want to make sure I am taking good care of them.
What some fantastic information – we have to be very careful with Sal as she isn’t the most healthiest of pooches these days poor thing. x
Great information for people with pets. I had no idea that they could have so many “human” problems, that is amazing!
My dog Milo is going to the vet next month. Fingers crossed he’s in good health!
