Are you ready for some football? One sure sign of fall in the South is football season. Everyone gathers for tailgating or football parties and cheers on their favorite local or college team. Favorite memories are shared from past seasons. “Remember when he made a touchdown in the last minute of the game and we won?” Sometimes our least favorite memories are shared too. My daughter still talks about the time the college mascot fell in her lap while he was body surfing through the crowd. Whatever the event, we know there will be plenty of food. Everyone expects hot wings as part of our feast, but I don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen preparing food. Hey, I want to watch the game too! My secret is to pick up prepared wings from the deli and serve some plan and jazz some up in a recipe.
When I was picking up some needed items from Walmart, I passed by a demo for fresh wings from the deli. After sampling the spicy General Tso’s wings, I decided these would be perfect served with Italian dressing. I picked up a pound of these and picked up a pound of hot wings to make my Wings N’ Things dip. This is also good as a sandwich spread if there are any leftovers.
The Wing’s N Things dip can be made in advance and contains only four ingredients, making it my kind of recipe. I am all for quick and easy! It’s good served either hot or cold. Here’s what you need to make it:
The hardest step in the recipe is removing the chicken from the bones! Make sure the cream cheese is softened and then add the Ranch dressing, cheese and chicken. Mix it together until blended and place it into a 9″ by 9″ baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees until the mixture is warm and bubbly. This recipe is easy to adapt too! Like onions or olives? Add them in!
- 1 package (8 ounces) shredded cheese (I like to use a four cheese blend)
- 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 pound hot wings, meat removed from the bone
- 3/4 cup (6 ounces) Italian dressing
- Optional ingredients: 1/2 cup chopped green onions or olives (or both!)
- Mix softened cream cheese, Italian dressing, and 1/2 of the cheese together. Stir in chicken until well mixed. Pour into a 9″ by 9″ baking dish and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees or until mixture is hot and bubbly. Top with remaining cheese and cook five minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Serve hot or cold.
What is your favorite way to serve deli wings during game day?
Now that looks like a delicious dip! I think it is time for me to go eat lunch. I’m getting hungry. lol
I may or may not be drooling. This looks AMAZINGLY delicious!
That dip looks delicious! Absolutely perfect for game day 🙂
Oh my gosh – those look so good! I love the idea of Wings with dip! Thanks for sharing.
Now I want wings. Just so I can have this dip! Yum!
I love them buffalo style. I am so happy football season is here!
Wings are always quick to make and easy to eat on game day. I am vegan now but I remember that I loved wings back when
I like to bake wings in the oven with Kraft honey barbeque sauce. Sometimes we just buy a small container of dip. I plan to try your recipe this Saturday or Sunday.
I’d love to try this one! It’s so hard to diet during football season! 😉
Wow- wings and dip? It’s like you took the two best things about watching football and mashed them together- I love it!!!
This looks to good not to try. We don’t celebrate game day but we do love wings. I like how easy this recipe is. Thanks for sharing i will be making it soon.
This dip looks so delicious and those wings are so easy. They look like a great combination for a fun football party! #client
I love love spicy wings, sadly I hate bones. Usually I am the one looking for a menu that offers boneless hot wings .. but I guess that’s when they call them something else … buffalo breasts {because that’s usually the boneless chicken meat}? oh boy that doesn’t sound good either. Well … anyways, this does look delicious and I do eat buffalo wings if they don’t have a boneless option!
My husband and I make wings on occasion but we’ve been looking for a new brand. We will have to give these a try!
This dip looks delicious. I dont use many dips but my one daughter is a dip lover. I will have to try this!
That is a great looking dip recipe!! I am going to have to check out the wings for game day!!
I think this would be a hit here. My family loves wings, they like to experiment with types and dips too.
That sounds yummy! Anything with cheese seems to get my attention.
I’ve always made them myself. However, this is an easier way to do it and they probably have some secret fantastic recipe, so I need to do the deli thing!
So hungry right now. And that looks so delish!!
What delicious wings! Great dip recipe too!! Will be perfect for the games!
This dip looks so delicious! Dips are one of my favorite things to have at game day parties. I will have to make this one next!
Oh that looks delicious, I so want this now! I will have to be on the look out for them.
That dip looks so good. I cant wait to try it next sunday!
This dip looks amazing! I am not a huge “game watcher” but I am a fan of the food.
Oh My! Not a wings fan but can totally think of other foods to have this dip with.
Wings slathered in anything is a good time. Love the dip idea
Oooh. That looks really good. I love wings… and dip… this combo would be perfect!
Oh I love, love, love this dip idea… we often have Hubby’s family over for game days and this would be perfect… Thanks so much
This is a great idea! I hadn’t thought of just buying the wings and making the dip homemade! Seriously, I haven’t made my husband any wings so far this season because I’m just not good at it!
This looks way too delicious! I actually would love some about now!!
Oh, this looks so good! I can see this in a centerpiece surrounded by wings, chips, and maybe some fried mozzarella sticks, as well.
Yum! Dip is my favorite food, I am not even kidding. This looks so perfect for game day or a night with friends!
Okay that looks so good! I need to make it soon. I don’t want to wait for game day 🙂
This dip looks really good. I know what I’m making for game day.
Well, I guess I know what I’m making the next time I watch the Pack. This looks amazing.
This looks so good! My husband would love this. So would I!
This looks delicious! I’ll have to make this next game day.
I’m not much of a fan of football, but I am a huge fan of the delicious game day and tailgating food that goes along with it.
Wings are a football must! We also like to make our own guacamole and hummus and serve it with warm pita slices!
These look so delish!!! Pinning!
I’m not a fan of wings, but this looks fabulous for a football party! I might have to try it
This looks like a yummy dip! I would love to make this for the big game!
That dip looks amazing. I love making my own wings. We do a twice baked so that they are crispy and full of flavor without all the grease of deep frying.
I love chips and most types of dip. We generally don’t prepare wings ourselves, but this recipe looks fantastic!
That looks like an amazing dip. Real easy and tasty.
That looks like the most amazing dip ever. I need to make this and soon, thank you!
i LOVE dip!! it makes all foods more fun! if only you could dip INTO dip.
Oh, that’s a smart idea! We pick up a chicken bucket from Walmart on game days. Either two different kinds of wings and popcorn chicken for the kids or we swap out one of the wings for a side. So easy and inexpensive!
We’re big chips and salsa people. This recipe looks delicious! Of course, anything with cream cheese is guaranteed to be scrumptious. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that I love buffalo wings. 🙂
We do chips & salsa pretty often, too! And I completely agree about cream cheese 🙂
My husband and I are really big on dips for game day – or even date night! This recipe sounds awesome.
