Welcome back to Gluten Free Friday! We’re right in the middle of Celiac Awareness Month, so it’s the perfect time to share some new products for you to try! Celiac Disease affects around 1 in every 133 people in the United States, and the only treatment is a strict gluten free diet. Every Friday here on Simply Southern Mom, we partner with brands to bring you the latest and greatest in gluten free and allergy friendly products. This week we have some great new stuff to show you! Let’s get to it.
1. Carrington Farms Coconut Flour is made from defatted dried coconut meat, and is a high protein option for those of us looking for gluten free flours. Coconut flour has a mild coconutty taste, and absorbs more liquid than most flours. This makes it perfect for thickening stews or making meatballs! However, the options are only as limited as your imagination. If coconut flour isn’t in your repertoire, Carrington Farms offers a variety of seed, grain, and oil products that are sure to find a home in your kitchen.
Contains: coconut
Good for: cooking and baking
2. Go Organically Fruit Snacks are a gluten free, non-gmo, organic option for fruit snack lovers. If you’re a parent, you know that you want to feel good about what your kids are eating. Go Organically Fruit Snacks are mom approved because they’re made with real fruit juice and purées, and they’re free of artificial colors and flavors. They’re kid approved because they taste good– and that’s what really matters.
Contains: no top 8 allergens listed
Good for: school lunch, snacking, road trips with kids
3. AquaBall is sugar free, naturally flavored water in a cute little bottle. It’s sweetened with stevia, free of preservatives, and it has added vitamins! Whenever we go to peds, they tell us how important it is for our toddler to be drinking water. Luckily, she likes water, but we know plenty of toddlers who don’t. Juices and milks can add a lot of extra sugar to a toddler’s diet, so Aquaball! is here to help. The flavors get toddlers excited about drinking water, and you can get excited knowing your kiddo is getting the water they need.
Contains: no top 8 allergens listed
Good for: kids, hot weather, school lunch, picnics
4. The Little Kernel s just what you suspected. This popcorn has tiny kernels, popped in olive oil then flavored with quality ingredients. I’m a popcorn snob, so I was skeptical about The Little Kernel. The Little Kernel is gluten free and dairy free. I tried the pink Himalayan salt flavor and was won over! It could’ve used a little bit more salt in my opinion, but I eat a lot of salt thanks to my POTS. I liked the texture of the mini kernels of popcorn. I could eat the whole bag by myself!
Good for: snack, lunch, movie night, kids snack
Contains: no top 8 allergens listed
5. GeeFree makes Gluten Free puff pastry products. From cheeseburger bites to plain puff pastry, this was my chance to try foods I’d been missing out on for years. I tried the spanakopita first and really enjoyed the flavor. The dough was a little more like empanada dough than puff pastry, but I love empanadas, so that was fine with me! I’ve never been a huge cheeseburger fan, so the cheeseburger bites were my least favorite. I was happy to pig out (pun intended) on some pigs in blankets for the first time in years, though! We haven’t used the plain puff pastry yet, so if you have any recipe ideas, let us hear them.
Contains: varies by product
Good for: snacking, parties, appetizers, lunch, kids
That’s all we have for you this week! Which of these products would you like to try first?

These are awesome! I love that these are snacks that the kids would enjoy. They wouldn’t even know that it’s a healthier alternative to the usual. I like those puff pastry products!
All of these look like great gluten free products. I’ll have to try the mini popcorn for my little mini me. She loves popcorn!
I love these gluten free post I love looking at all of these products that are on the market. The little kernel is a cute branding concept and I would be interesting in eating this!
I would love to try any of these products you featured in this post. The coconut flour looks interesting. I will try to find recipes that call for this kind of flour first. The aqua ball would be great to take along when the family goes hiking or just enjoying a picnic out in the park.
I didn’t know that there is a coconut flour that you can buy. I would like to try that so I’ll check out our local store if they have it.
I am gluten free so when I served the GeeFree franks in a blanket at my last party one of my friends was amazed I was eating them. There gluten free I said. No one would believe It till I took the box out and showed them.
I am a snacker, and I am looking at options to snack the healthy way. I think the Go Organically Fruit snacks and Little Kernel would be a wise choice. Thanks for letting me know about them.
Never tried of this coconut flour in my life. But it is not bad to try it sometimes. My family might love it.
My family does not have any special diets but I am open to try gluten free products. I think the Fruit snacks and the Gee Free puff pastries are delicious!
How much Xantham gum do you tend to add to your coconut flour? I want to bake with it more but I am really unfamilar with it!
Add about 1/4 teaspoon of Xantham gum for each cup of coconut flour.
The Aquaballs are great! My daughter loves them. I’ve never tried coconut flour, so I will have to- sounds like it could be fun to bake with.
I recently bought a Keto cookbook and I saw coconut flour in it. I can’t wait to try out the recipes in it so I will be on the look out for this brand.
I would try the Little Kernel, first of all because I love popcorn and this sounds like a healthier version compared to many others out there.
I have quite a few friends who avoid gluten. Most because they have to, some just because they want to!
It is nice that more and more people are now avoiding gluten. It makes it easier for me to find new recipes and products. Great post!
We don’t have any gluten free eaters in our house but would love to give aquaball a try. What a lovely roundup
What a great round up I love the sound of the fruit bites that is something I could definitely imagine having in my cupboard to enjoy from time to time.
I’m not familiar with any of these because we don’t have to focus gluten free. However, I love trying new products!
I think cutting back on gluten would help a whole lot of people and they don’t even realize it. My family suffers from crazy allergies and once we changed up our diets – left out the dairy and the gluten – we all felt so much better!!!
I know several people that have to eat a gluten free diet. Thankfully, no one in my family, but these look and sound good.
The Little Kernal is one of my favorite snacks. I’m head over heels for popcorn and they have such great flavor.
The only item on the list we’ve tried is the AquaBall. Thanks for the gluten free shopping list.
We aren’t gluten free, but we follow a Keto diet in our house, so we have utilized a few of these items like the coconut flour!
I made the switch to coconut oil and love it. I haven’t tried coconut flour yet, but that’s next on my list.
I have no idea why I didn’t know but for some reason I did not know that they were such thing as coconut flour. I will have to try it and just see how it taste.
This all sounds wonderful. My MIL is gluten free so I’ll have to tell her about these products. I really want to try The Little Kernel.
Those fruit snacks sound pretty awesome. We’ve been trying to go all-natural and organic whenever possible. These fruit snacks fit right in to that!
I always learn about something new on your Gluten-Free Fridays. I had no idea that coconut flour was a thing.
I have used coconut flour for some stuff I have made. Even used it to bread chicken stripes one time. Learning to use some gluten free stuff even though non of us need to go gluten free. Always fun to learn and use new products.
My daughter uses coconut flour and loves it. I’ve never used it, but since I love coconut, I really need to give it a try soon.
